Lately I've been using hope in a jar, but when I run out or decide to spend my money on something else total effects has been my dependable go to moisturizer. It works. It doesn't clog my pores. It moisturizes nicely, and is not too greasy. They say it does 7 things for my skin, and I have to believe them.

I tend to like hope in the jar more because

1. It stops mid exfoliation, dry weather flakes better.
2. it's more economical if I can afford the larger size up front. I put in the fridge to not worry about the shelf life.
3. I like the name.
4. It's a good base for mineral makeup.
5. The smell isn't as bad as some say. I prefer it to perfume on my face which tend to sting, and it goes away fast.

Now that I've spent money on a tanda and clarisonic it's back to Olay for the time being. For some reason I decided to go to the olay site and take their questionnaire. The computerized voice suggested the whole line of regenerist, but I'm not certain if this is just good marketing. The reviews seem so good I should try at least one of the line out.

What is your favourite, affordable moisturizer? Which would be a worthwhile splurge?

I've been seeing so many new ones on this store site and recommended in reviews lately and am intrigued. Is yonka good?

What's your definition of affordable? *LoL*
For me, I don't think it's ridiculous to spend $50-$70 on moisturizing cream, and I totally understand that La Mer & La Prairie are over the top.

I tend to use Bobbi Brown the most...Vitamin Enriched Face Cream/Base, altho the smell is quite strong, but it's tolerable. The Hydrating Face Cream I'll use in the winter more often, but I tend to always go back to the Vitamin Enriched Face Base. Bobbi also has the Overnight Cream, which I use sparingly, altho it's really not that rich, in my opinion. All of them are $75 and below, I can't vouch for the Overnight Cream...I never ask for the price before I hand over my credit card LoL *slaps self* And one cream that I have used in the past, that I don't usually recommend (b/c I don't like the brand), but I did like, is Lancome's Aquafusion Cream-Gel. It's lightweight, but quite moisturizing, and I really like the fresh scent.

To splurge...well, I know sinsin's gonna say La Mer ;) I second that notion, only b/c it really does feel great on the skin. I still have the jar of Givenchy's Le Soin Noir at home, it was $360 USD...now that is a rich cream! I don't even know if "cream" is the right word, it's more like a gel, but it's rich in texture. I liked that one, except the smell is borderline perfume-y, but it's tolerable for me (which says a lot, b/c I have a nose like a bloodhound!).

I have sensitive skin and have been using Babor's Calming and Sensitive Day Cream. In the summer when I need it to be less heavy I can add a little water in my hand with cream. I am considering Skinceutical Moisture creams as they have non fragranced products. I've also tried Bioelements moisture. I sometimes find that during the day the sunscreen is enough moisture. (In summer only)

The brand doesn't concern me so much as whether or not the product is fragrance free.

There are so many moisturizer right now. But I love Fair and Handsome Whitening Day-Long Moisturiser. It lightens my skin tone and protects against harmful UVA / UVB.

DCL Ultra Light Hydrator. It's oil-free and will not clog your pores. It's the perfect basic moisturizer for someone with sensitive oily skin.
